The LNG 16 Steering Committee is pleased to present

The Faculty

Nirmal Chatterjee, Chairman of the LNG 16 Program Committee.  Dr. Chatterjee has over 35 years of experience in LNG technology development, engineering, start-up, operations, safety and security. He retired from Air Products and Chemicals in 2004 (?)  but continues as a consultant to organize the LNG Conferences. During his 33 years at APCI included VP of Technology, VP of Engineering and VP of Environment, Health and Safety. In 1971, as a new  APCI employee, he solved the “roll-over” problem in the La Spezia LNG storage tank and developed the procedures for safe filling of LNG that are still practiced today. He has been the Chairman of the LNG Conference Program Committee for the last 12 years and prior to that a member of the LNG Conference Steering Committee for 9 years. Dr. Chatterjee received his Ph. D in Chemical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.

Alain Goy,  Vice Chairman, LNG 16 Program Committee. Alain Goy is Head of the LNG Technical Department,  ELENGY, a division of GDF  Suez.  He joined GDF SUEZ ( formerly Gaz de France) in 1980.  After seven years in the operation of GDF’s underground storage and high pressure network, he returned to LNG and worked mainly on receiving terminals, especially in the areas safety assessments and risk analysis. He was involved in the Technical partnership with Petronet LNG, India. Since 1999, he has been  head of LNG experts team in charge of the French LNG terminals projects (including the new Fos Cavaou terminal, where his activities ranged from site selection to the start up in 2009) and international development projects (China, India, Norway, Egypt, and Italy). Mr. Goy is also chairman of European standardisation committee for LNG facilities ( CEN TC 282). He graduated from the Ecole des Mines de St Etienne

Colleen Taylor Sen, Member of the LNG 15 Steering Committee and Senior Advisor, LNG, Gas Technology Institute. Dr. Sen directs GTI’s LNG information, research marketing, and training programs. She is editor of The World LNG Source Book; the founder and contributing editor to Oil and Gas Journal’s quarterly supplement, The LNG Observer; and the author of many papers and presentations on LNG. She organizes and chairs courses and conferences on all aspects of the LNG industry. Dr. Sen has been a member of the Steering Committees of the LNG Conferences since LNG 12 in 1998. She has a B.A. and M.A. from the University of Toronto and a Ph.D. from Columbia University.
